NEW UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND PRACTICAL POLICY COURSE

THE UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND IS PIONEERING A POLICY PRACTICE COURSE (POLS3807) for undergraduate students aspiring to work in public policy roles. The course will be co-taught by Nonie Malone of Foresight Consulting Pty Ltd and Associate Professor Andy Hindmoor. It will commence in July 2011.
The course will expose students to the realities of working in public policy roles through case study work and instruction by experienced policy professionals. It will bridge the university to professional entry divide by giving students an understanding of the skills and attributes of a successful policy officer and guidance on how to develop and demonstrate these in applying for public service policy roles.
