Draft Professional Standard for Policy Development now available for comment

IPAA has developed a draft Professional Standard for Policy Development. The design team for the standard included two Deputy Secretaries of Australian Government Departments, Director HR Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, an HR consultant, a project manager, and Nonie Malone from Foresight Consulting Pty Ltd. The draft standard is modelled on the UK standard released in March 2013 and acknowledges the importance of wide input from all sectors of government in its further refinement and the critical importance of leadership arrangements to embed the standard in each jurisdiction and ensure its usefulness.
